Barons Court Area Guide
Baron’s Court is nestled on the banks of the River Thames, between Fulham and Hammersmith in West Kensington. It is popular for young professionals as it is a short tube ride to the West End and the City being in Zone 2, it has its own Underground Station with both the Piccadilly and District Line using the station. West Kensington has an Underground Station too which has the District Line running through it.
Both are exclusive areas boasting of cafés, independent boutiques, restaurants, bars and gastro pubs. With all the commotion of being close to the City, it is not short of its green spaces, giving residents the escape of the hustle and bustle, Normand Park a lovely park to visit, having recently been renovated and Marcus Garvey Park is one to see too. If you like Sports, Tennis in particular, you should head on over to the Queens Tennis Club where the exclusive Aegon Championships are held every June the week before Wimbledon.
Both places have more flats than houses which is why it is so popular with young professionals; however there are still large red brick Victorian and Edwardian houses to be found here so young families have called Baron’s Court and West Kensington home for many years because of these large homes. You will also have the added bonus with that most of the streets here are very pretty with the regency white stucco houses and the large red brick residences.
